Darby Fire Co. # 1 Station 4

Yesterday at 18:36 hrs, Squrt 4 relocated to Chester Fire Station 82 while they operated on a 2 alarm fire in the city.

At approximately 19:19 hrs, cover companies we’re dispatched in the area of E 7th St and Avenue Of The States for the report of a building fire.

Squrt 4 with a crew of 4, arrived as the first due engine to find a large 1 story commercial property with smoke throughout. Squrt 4 secured a water supply and quickly began the initial fire attack. Squrt 4 operated on scene for approximately 4 hours.

At 19:01 hrs, Engine 4 handled a tripped fire alarm at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Darby Fire Co. #1 Celebrates EMS Week 2022, May 15-21

It is with deep respect that Darby Fire Co. #1 pays tribute to those who save lives as EMTs.

In emergency medical situations, EMS workers are often the first line of response by providing essential, sometimes life-saving, care for patients. People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care provided by these dedicated men and women. As firefighters, it is our honor to often work together to save lives.

There are over 1.03 million EMTs in the United States who safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of their communities each and every day. They respond to emergency calls, perform medical services, and transport patients to medical facilities.

With local EMS agencies responding to nearly 28.5 million 911 dispatches every year, there is no better time to recognize and thank the EMTs in our community. The theme for this year’s EMS Week is “Rising to the Challenge,” which is what EMS workers do 24/7, 365 days a year.
