 February 19, 2013

Around 3:13am, Station 04 was alerted for the cover up assignment to Station 08 (Prospect Park) while they battled a fire in their first due. 🚨2nd Alarm Fire🚨

Last evening just after 9pm Engine 4 ran the working fire dispatch to the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby Township for an apartment fire with numerous people trapped. Upper Darby Car 3 quickly upgraded the assignment to a 2nd alarm due to multiple reports of a fire and people still inside. First arriving units encountered fire on Division 2 and 3 of an apartment building. Numerous hand lines were placed into service while multiple rescues were being performed. Co 4 operate for just over 2 hours before being released from the scene.

Please keep everyone affected by this fire in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

Thank you to Aston Twp. Fire Dept Truck 17 for covering our Borough while our members operated at the fire!

The Acquarola Family has been long time supporters of Darby Fire Company # 1. As the owners of McMahon’s Beverages on Main Street, this family owned business was always gracious and generous to our organization. Whether the company was hosting a fundraising event, a benefit for a member, or a celebration, McMahon’s was always first in line to provide assistance. We would like to thank Nick and the rest of family and offer congratulations on retirement. ... See MoreSee Less
