Members were kept busy with 3 working fires in less than 48 hours.
On 8/13 at 13:33 hours the fire company was dispatched to 443 S. 2nd Street in Colwyn for a residential building fire. 04-1 had heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 story occupied dwelling. Members made an aggressive attack with an 1 3/4 hoseline and knocked the fire down quickly.
On 8/15 at 01:55 hours Company 06 and 42 were dispatched to 815 Clifton Ave. in Collingdale for a working dwelling fire. Five minutes later Company 04 was dispatched to the scene. 04-1 and 04-2 responded with full staffing and went into service assisting with the interior attack and roof operations.
On 8/15 some 8 hours after the Collingdale job a 2nd alarm was transmitted for a working dwelling fire at 159 East Plumstead Avenue in Lansdowne. Crews from Company 04 responded and assisted with interior operations and ventilation.
Without the dedication, hard work and pride our members we would not be able keep our name as being "MOST AGGRESSIVE". Keep up the great work!
Darby Fire Company #1 took home 4 awards at the Delaware Valley Fire Muster & Show at Rose Tree Park on August 1st. The muster was hosted by the Cradle of Liberty Antique Fire Apparatus Association and sponsored by the Delaware County Firemen's Association.
With the Muster's featured manufacturer being American LaFrance, 04-1 brought home 1st Place for "Best Appearing American LaFrance 1950 or Newer" and 2nd Place "Best Appearing Fire Co. Owned 1986-1999.
"The Ram" took home 1st Place "Best Appearing Fire Co. Owned - Non Motorized" and 2nd Place "Best Appearing Fire Co. Owned 1929 & Older"
After being awarded a grant for 30 complete sets of Globe GXCEL turnout gear with an integrated harness system, the members of Darby Fire Company took part in a Personal Harness and Personal Escape training class held at the the Training Center by Safety and Survival Training, LLC.
Members learned how to utilize their integrated harness as a means of second egress and to rescue trapped victims, firefighters and most of all themselves.
The officers would like to thank the members who came out and bared the heat as well as the instructors for sharing their knowledge and putting on a great training course.

For the fourth year in a row the members of Darby Fire Company responded to a working for on the 4th of July holiday weekend.
On Saturday July 3rd @ 08:42 hours, the fire company was dispatched along with Company 92, 21, 06 and RIT 19 for a building fire at 510 S. 4th Street in Colwyn. 04-1 and 04-2 arrived and found fire in the basement of a 2 1/2 story occupied dwelling. 04-1's crew made a quick knockdown of the fire while crews from 04-2 and 06 ventilated and a searched for victims. The fire was placed under control with-in 20 minutes and no injuries were reported.

Sunday April 18, 2010 - At 10:36am Darby Fire Company #1 and other units were dispatched to assist Yeadon Fire Company on a working structure fire. Firefighters from Darby participated in fire suppression, truck work, and roof work. Everyone worked extremely hard to bring this fire under control. Strong work to the firefighters on scene! A speedy recovery to those injured at the job. Mend up brothers, we'll catch ya at the next one!

Easter Sunday April 4, 2010: The string ran out on the Fire Prevention Divisions no-hitter. At 0138 Delco Fireboard (Morgan) dropped the tones for the 200 block of Marks Ave. in Darby for the building fire. Initial reports indicated that there was a stove fire. Medic 04-7A arrived to find smoke showing from the home that is split into duplexes. Chief 04-9 (Caruso) arrived shortly after Engine 42 and reported a 2 story twin with fire on the second floor apartment. 42-9A (Gurrera) reported a room off with extnsion to the hallway and adjacent room. As water was played on the fire arriving firefighters performed various tasks to bring the fire under control. Thank you to "the box" assignment for your assistance and professtionalism! Company 21 (Darby Fire Patrol #2), Company 42 (Collingdale Fire Company #2), R.I.T. 19 (Lansdowne Fire Company), Darby Police, and "The Medix" M04-7A, 04-7B, and Medic 105-9A (Vinnacombe) from Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital EMS. February 23, 2010 - The Officers and Members were pleased to host representatives from the Fireman's Fund Insurance Group. The fire company was given a grant of $5,339.00 for the purchase of equipment. This is the 2nd consecutive year Darby has been awarded this grant. The money was used to purchase 1 3/4" hose and (2) Stihl power saws. The eqipment allows Darby Fire Company #1 to protect the residents of the borough with the most state-of-the-art equipment available! A heart-felt thanks from Darby Fire Company to the Fireman's Fund for issuing us this grant. After the check presentation those in attendance were treated to a buffet-style lucheon given by our firehouse hall chef!

This year's banquet was a success every one had a great time. Thanks to all that participated and helped get the banquet together. Great job to Jim booth on an awesome video. the awards are as followed.
