Working Fire 908 Forrester Ave (Darby Borough)

On Thursday March 16th at approximately 1910 hours, Company 4 was dispatched to the 900 block of Forrester Ave in Darby Borough for a reported house fire. Darby police quickly arrived and confirmed a working fire at 908 Forrester Ave.

Engine 4 arrived as the first engine to a two story middle of the row dwelling with smoke showing from the first floor. Members made entry through the front door and were met with heavy fire conditions on the first floor extending to the second floor.

A 2nd alarm was requested for manpower due to the fire quickly extending into the delta exposure and upper floor.

Company 16 (Yeadon) performed searches on the first and second floor of the main fire building while Company 33 (Collingdale) operated in the delta exposure.

Extensive overhaul was completed after the fire was placed under control. Crews operated on scene for approximately 3 hours. One juvenile victim was transported by EMS.

We would like to thank all of our mutual aid departments that assisted us on this second alarm fire as well as the departments that provided coverage in the Borough while we operated on scene.
